Where Are All The Firefighters?

I cried out

But was completely ignored

Others chimed in

But the privileged were bored.

Enough whining, they snapped

And everyone fell quiet

I alone screamed louder

A one-man riot.

I became a nuisance to the numb

A fire alarm with no fire

And little did they know, unity

Had already burned down

Years prior.
