TOP 10

Here is a list of our 10 favorite books so far!

Pride and Prejudice

Chadwick's Choice

It's one of the most charming and funniest books of all time. Elizabeth Bennet is the fictional character that all creations crave to be: fully developed with a convincing growth arc. Oh, and that wit!

Anna Karenina

Alexander's Choice

This isn't a book, but a bible.

Mr. Mercedes

Chadwick's Choice

While no where near Stephen King's best, the first installment of the Bill Hodges Trilogy has a very special place in my heart. Instead on focusing on whodunit, Stevie drives readers between the mind of a mass murderer and a retired cop who vows to take him down.

Harry Potter series

Alexander's Choice

I'm always a bit irked by people who have never read Harry Potter. The story changed the world, but they chose to ignore it. I've come to the conclusion that you have to be careful around those folks.

Pachinko

Chadwick (& Alexander's) Choice

Min Jin Lee borrows from the family saga, East of Eden, and adds that desperately needed half generation. The Korean Japanese tale is brutally honest, refreshingly fair, and addictively entertaining. Arousing, insightful, a pure masterpiece.

The Sound and the Fury

Alexander's Choice

I always laugh to myself when I imagine the title with a simple typo of The Sound and the Furry. That would be a completely different story.

And Then There Were None

Chadwick's Choice

Iconic. Entertaining. And for a reason. Due to an inconceivable plot twist, this short book is able to adopt elements of the supernatural while maintaining its believability. It's no wonder Agatha Christie is still referred to as the "Queen of Crime."

The Grapes of Wrath

Alexander's Choice

One of the best American historical fictions to date.

Slaughterhouse-Five

Chadwick's Choice

Easy to read and cleverly droll, Kurt Vonnegut's most famous satire challenges standard narrative by jumping around an eccentric timeline. Without a doubt, my favorite of Kurt's.

Frankenstein

Alexander's Choice

Like The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein is one of the best thrillers out there because it's about more than just what a monster can do, but why he does such terrifying things.
